Job Description

The Digital Sales Account Management (People Management) role at Microsoft's Technology for Social Impact team involves building, motivating, and mentoring a high-performing sales team focused on digital transformation for corporate accounts. Responsibilities include talent acquisition, recruiting, succession planning, and change management. The manager will cultivate relationships with customers, guide teams to leverage storytelling strategies, and drive sales. They will also define strategies, objectives, and a rhythm of business for territory planning, manage pipelines, meet sales goals, and create compelling presentations for clients. This role requires experience managing high-performance sales and technical-sales teams in multi-tiered large organizations.

The Technology for Social Impact Team is chartered with the mission of bringing the power of technology to every non-profit and humanitarian organization to accelerate Social Good. This organization will bring together our donation and grants programs, industry solutions, commercial sales efforts and partner ecosystems to empower non-profits globally to address the world’s most pressing needs. Profits generated from this business will be reapplied to scaling operations and investments for Microsoft’s public good investments. As part of local subsidiaries or Digital Sales centers around the world, you will support a dedicated set of customers in identifying and achieving their business objectives through best-in-class digital engagement and partner co-selling. As the TSI Growth Sales Manager, you will be accountable for building, motivating and mentoring a high-functioning sales team with different disciplines to lead and drive digital transformations to corporate accounts. Engages in talent acquisition, recruiting, succession planning, and change management.  You will guide teams to leverage storytelling strategies and create and/or identify opportunities to drive sales. This leader will lead a group of account executives.You will proactively cultivate trusting and influential relationships with customers, especially at the senior level. This role is Microsoft onsite only.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications 

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering (e.g., Electrical or Mechanical), Business Management, Economics, or related field AND demonstrable experience in sales, managing high performance sales and technical-sales teams, and/or leadership roles in multi-tiered large organizations  
  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering (e.g., Electrical or Mechanical), Business Management, Economics, or related field AND demonstrable experience in sales, managing high performance sales and technical-sales teams, and/or leadership roles in multi-tiered large organizations  
  • OR equivalent experience  
  • Demonstrable direct/formal, indirect/informal, and/or project team people management experience  
  • Demonstrable experience with digital sales solutions e.g. M365, Dynamics, Azure etc.  
  • Demonstrable experience in budgeting, sales forecasting, sales processes and resource allocation. 

 

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering (e.g., Electrical or Mechanical), Business Management, Economics, or related field AND Extensive experience in sales, marketing/advertising, managing high performance sales and technical-sales teams, and/or leadership roles in multi-tiered large organizations  
  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering (e.g., Electrical or Mechanical), Business Management, Economics, or related field AND demonstrable experience in sales, marketing/advertising, managing high performance sales and technical-sales teams, and/or leadership roles in multi-tiered large organizations  
  • OR equivalent experience  
  • Demonstrable experience leading teams and/or managers in a Sales organization  
  • Demonstrable direct/formal, indirect/informal, and/or project team people management experience

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities  

  • You will leverage your ability to attract, retain, and develop the best resources in the field.Inspire and foster a culture of customer-centricity and consumption, adoption and use through collaboration with peers and extended teams.   
  • You will actively maintain and leverage a comprehensive understanding of their customers' business needs, strategies and priorities within the portfolio and coach teams to anticipate their customers' needs and to educate customers on positioning Microsoft products and services to increase customer budget.  
  • You will empower virtual teams to define strategies, objectives, and a rhythm of business (ROB) for territory planning across the customer set, clearly articulating standards and priorities by directing the development and implementation of strategies for maximizing selling and customer add opportunities.   
  • You will define the expectations and goals to guide the development strategies to manage pipeline and meet sales goals by reviewing forecasts, assessing and mitigating risks and ensure strategy alignment with business priorities and drive engagements with key internal partners, business and technical decision makers to develop long-range, comprehensive, tailored business strategies that meet Microsoft's and customers' needs.   
  • As a thought leader and trusted advisor to executive-level business decision makers across their business areas, you will direct and facilitate the development and delivery of compelling, value-proposition presentations (e.g., with the use of business cases) and specialized business plans for clients that accelerate the closing of deals, facilitates connections between customers and broader Microsoft solutions, and consistently drives business outcomes.    
  • You will direct and execute talent acquisition, recruiting, succession planning and change management and provide guidance to team on how to have hard conversations, navigate employment law, support diversity and inclusion initiatives, and how to motivate/coach someone's behavioral changes.
