Plarium seeks an experienced Real-time VFX Artist (contract) to contribute to their mobile MMO shooter, Mech Arena. Responsibilities include creating real-time VFX in Unity for various game elements (characters, weapons, environments, UI), utilizing internal tools for VFX review and setting adjustments. The role requires at least 2 years of real-time VFX experience in Unity, with a focus on mobile optimization and proficiency in Amplify Shader Editor or similar. 80% of effects leverage existing resources, while 20% demand unique textures and shaders. The position is remote and requires Ukrainian citizenship or a work permit.

For this position, it is important to have Ukrainian citizenship or a work permit for Ukraine.

RAID: Shadow Legends, Mech Arena, and our other 18 massive titles unite more than 500 million players worldwide. With over 15 years’ experience, we strive for boundary-pushing gameplay and graphics. We are looking for an experienced Real-time VFX Artist to join the team working on Mech Arena, our mobile third-person MMO shooter in a stylized sci-fi setting.

Mech Arena is focused on both teamplay in battles and developing individual Mechs, Weapons, and Pilots. The player’s goal is to build teams of Mechs that can excel in Arena combat, and compete for top placement in leaderboards and tournaments. The game is available on , , and .

The team works in Unity. 80% of effects are created on the basis of existing resources, but 20% of them are unique textures and shaders.

Responsibilities

  • Creating real-time VFX in Unity for a variety of mobile game elements including , , and , and creating UI visual effects

  • Using internal tools to collate and review completed VFX work, and checking related settings

What we expect

  • At least 2 years of experience creating real-time VFX

  • Experience working in Unity

  • Experience working on mobile projects and optimizing visual effects for them

  • Extensive experience working with Amplify Shader Editor or a similar graph-based shader editor

  • Experience working with prefabs in Unity as well as configuring additional scripts and elements

  • Experience working with animation in Unity

Desired

  • Experience working with version control systems

  • Experience creating textures in Substance Designer
