ProbablyMonsters seeks a Principal Player Combat & Gameplay Designer to lead the design, implementation, and tuning of player gameplay and combat mechanics for a new action-adventure RPG IP. This role requires expertise in third-person action games, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with various teams (systems, level design, animation, AI, engineering). Responsibilities include defining core gameplay mechanics, identifying and solving challenges, partnering with AI development, collaborating across development phases, establishing quality benchmarks, mentoring junior designers, and driving playtesting and iteration. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in AAA game development, a deep understanding of third-person action game principles, and experience with modern game engines.
